Kristen Kaplan has spent the past 20 years working and volunteering on behalf of the nonprofit sector. She currently serves as Senior Manager for the Community Relations team at CarMax where she leads The CarMax Foundation, as well as the company’s national disaster response program. Prior to joining CarMax in 2013, Kristen worked for the Office of the Governor of Virginia, ConnectRichmond, VCU and Conservation International. Kristen completed her master’s degree in Public Administration at VCU with a concentration in nonprofit management and holds a bachelor’s degree from JMU. In 2005, she co-founded HandsOn RVA, was a Style Weekly “Top 40 Under 40" recipient and received Leadership Metro Richmond’s Servant Leadership Award in 2016. She resides in Midlothian, VA with her husband, Rob, and their four children.
